American Express cardmembers now have a new way to increase their rewards while filling their bellies. From Aug. 15 through Sept. 30, American Express cardmembers can earn Membership Rewards when they book a reservation through Resy and dine at the restaurant.
Resy is a digital tool for dining bookings that offers access to approximately 4,000 restaurants in 154 U.S. cities and internationally. American Express announced its acquisition of Resy back in May, and now the issuer is introducing promotional collaborations for cardmembers.
Promotion details
You’ll earn 500 Membership Rewards points when you dine at a booking made through Resy.com or the Resy app, up to a maximum of three bookings, or 1,500 points. Bookings made through your American Express concierge or directly with a restaurant will not count toward the 500-point bonus.
Points will be awarded between eight and 12 weeks after the promotion ends on Sept. 30, 2019.

Existing reservations will not earn you the 500-point bonus. However, you can always cancel or modify an existing reservation and rebook it after the promotion begins Aug. 15. You also must dine within the Aug. 15 to Sept. 30 period.
While this may go without saying, you do have to show up for your reservation and actually dine to receive the bonus.

Before making your reservation with Resy, add your AmEx card to the payment section of your Resy account. American Express cards enrolled in the U.S. Membership Rewards program are eligible for the bonus, with the exception of corporate cards. A list of eligible American Express cards can be found here.

For cardholders, the benefits of the Resy acquisition extend beyond the bonus points promotion. American Express cardholders will have early access to tickets for Resy dining events in major cities, such as Off Menu Week NYC and The Women of Food, London.
