Hilton is offering National Football League fans the chance to experience game day in Mexico City with a Hilton Honors Experience that will make you the envy of your usual tailgate crew.
The package includes:
-
Two tickets to see the Kansas City Chiefs play the Los Angeles Chargers at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
-
Transportation to and from the stadium.
-
A two-night stay at the centrally located Umbral, Curio Collection by Hilton, including welcome cocktails and daily breakfast.
How it works
Hilton Honors members are eligible to bid with their points for this experience via Hilton Honors Experiences. You can monitor bidding activity via the website. Whoever has the highest bid when the auction period ends will redeem their points for the experience.
When we last checked, the highest bid (of three total bids) was 114,000 points. Bids must be made in bid increments of at least 9,500 points, so if you have 123,500 points available, this package could be yours. Notably, transportation to Mexico City is not included, so be sure to factor that in. Flights from L.A. were around $300 round-trip on the days surrounding the game when we last checked.
Meanwhile, cash tickets for the game were starting at $557 for basic packages through the NFL. Packages comparable to the experience offered by Hilton (with different hotels) start at $1,425.

If the NFL isn’t your thing, Hilton has a variety of different experiences for Honors members to bid on. As of the time of this writing, for example, there are tickets available to see Peter Frampton in Concord, California, for 10,000 points, high tea at the Waldorf Astoria Versailles in France for 120,000 points, an “Ultimate Rome Experience” for 805,000 points, and more.
These experiences all include a standard disclaimer that the winner can’t transfer or sell the experience without Hilton’s permission, so ensure you’re actually able to attend before bidding. Some of the packages have a “buy now” option that doesn’t require bidding, so check out each offer for details.
Honors members can only redeem up to five experiences per calendar year and must have enough points to cover all bids.
